APS film

In this section, APS films is offered, it is a system that combines special photographic equipment designed for film format. The film has advanced automatic processing capabilities; its sale was active in the last century.
The History of the APS Film
Well known manufacturers of photo equipment have teamed up to create the perfect film for small-format photographs, such companies as Canon, Kodak, Fuji. The standards were defined, and since 1996, different brands offer to buy such films as:
  • Centurion.
  • Nexia.
  • Futura.
The system became relevant in the late 90s.
Basically, in Western countries, this format was used by amateurs, at home camera. No enthusiastic reviews were received from professionals; they did not get much pleasure from use this film, because it has no special advantages over small-format photography. After advanced digital photography appeared, photographic film of all formats began to be displaced, any improvement work was curtailed. All the photographic system materials that fit this format also ceased to be produced.
Format Features
Among the features of the system, it is noted that it is produced with a one-sided perforation, a more increased resolution. A special photo emulsion was used, which made it possible to reduce the frame area and not lose quality. The roll was designed for 25 or 40 mm size frames. Automatically, the film left the cassette inside the camera or inside a special developing machine. However, the advantage was that it was possible to recharge the cartridge after the film was only partially shot. After she was inserted back, she found the place where there were free full frames.
Some cameras by this time skillfully recorded the date and time of the shooting, they were applied to the back of the photography. The standard was designed for automatic processing, but this approach was not acceptable in conventional processors. It was possible to get control the automation of frame formats when printing. It was possible to choose a form before shooting in higher-quality cameras, information about the selected format was also recorded on film next to the frame.
